We help people give and get things for free in their local community. Some people have stuff they don’t want any more. Other people would like things they don’t have. We match them up. We don’t have physical premises, or warehouses – people give things directly to each other.

Freegle seems to be a thing in the UK, but not so much in other tribes of the world. They use google-analytics and some trackers, but they seem honest and recommend a privacy blocker:

We use Google Analytics to collect traffic statistics. This is configured in a way that means it does not require consent. We have a data processing agreement with Google, we have enabled IP anonymization/masking, disabled data sharing, and are not using any other google services in combination with Google Analytics.

We use Google and Facebook’s code to allow you to log in. They store a few third-party cookies, of their own, but before you’ve logged in they don’t know who you are. If you are concerned about these, you can install a privacy blocker such as Ghostery and still use the site. (

But then they use things like “” and I personally find things like these: and not so trade-free. Basically, they should remove these facebook and google trackers and instead use openstreetmap or so.
