Liblouis to tłumacz brajla typu open source i tłumacz wsteczny, nazwany na cześć Louisa Braille'a. Obsługuje alfabet Braille'a komputerowego i literackiego, obsługuje tłumaczenia kontraktowe i niezakontraktowane dla wielu języków oraz obsługuje dzielenie wyrazów. Nowe języki można łatwo dodawać za pomocą tabel obsługujących podejście oparte na regułach lub słowniku. Dostępne są także narzędzia do testowania i debugowania tabel. Liblouis obsługuje także alfabet matematyczny (Nemeth i Marburg).
